About
Born in 1962, trained for a very long time but only started competitive bodybuilding at 60, mainly to prove that over-60s are definitely not written off yet. In this short time, I have already had the opportunity to meet many national and international +60 athletes during competitions and my drive to continue and improve is only increasing. In this first year of competition, I won 2 contests, became Belgian masters III champion, became vice-European Champion in Spain and placed 4th at the World Championships in Czech Republic.
In daily life, I am a business technology manager in a global company, but with a scientific background. Supplemented by studies on nutrition, hormonology and anatomy. This complemented by many years of strength training enabled me to draw the ultimate path for successful ‘senior’ muscle hypertrophy training.
The internet is full of information, unfortunately it is not unequivocal. A fact is that once you pass 60, there is no more time to experiment, there is only time to do the right thing! On this website, you can download my experiences and recommendations, the “how I did it”. Hopefully this will inspire you and you will successfully beat the path of radical body transformation.
Building muscle and strength after 60
Building muscle after 60 isn’t difficult if you know how to train and how to optimize your diet. No matter your age, you can get in shape and build muscle through regular exercise.
Building muscle over 60, though, isn’t going to be easy; be prepared to change your diet, commit to regular training and tweak your lifestyle habits. (Re)building muscle mass after 60 takes time and discipline. Your body won’t transform overnight. That’s why it’s important to set realistic goals and make lasting lifestyle changes.
Bodybuilding is a mindset. And this mindset is the most important factor for success. Diet and training are equal and come next.
Preserve your muscle mass
As you age, your body undergoes many changes. One of them is the ‘inevitable’ loss of lean muscle mass, called sarcopenia. The natural decline of testosterone and anabolic resistance are driving factors for sarcopenia. According Harvard Health most men will lose about 30% of their muscle mass during their lifetimes. On this website you will find exactly how to stop this, how to regain already lost muscle mass and how to build an impressive physique.
